Jane Lea and her husband, Jim, moved to Del Mar out of a commitment to educate their daughter, Emma, in public schools. Emma spent her middle school years at Earl Warren, and she is now a junior at Canyon Crest Academy.

Before starting her own business, Jane Lea spent 16 years as a special education teacher, staff trainer and administrator. She handled all aspects of site leadership and curriculum development, facilitating communication among parents, students and teachers, conducting teacher training, and monitoring individualized education plans. Through it all, she kept a first focus on students’ academic, physical and social-emotional development.

Jane Lea now works as a research consultant in the private sector, focusing on safety in medical devices. Her clients count on her to collaborate with their teams to analyze data, prioritize needs, and build consensus to achieve safe and effective outcomes.

Outside of her professional life, Jane Lea enjoys a variety of volunteer roles. She serves as parent liaison for the CCA Girls Water Polo team and coordinates entertainment for CCA's Grad Nite. A strong believer in preserving our natural spaces, Jane Lea volunteers for the San Dieguito River Valley Conservancy as administrator of its popular Exploring our Sense of Place (ESP) Program.

Jane Lea holds a Master's Degree in Special Education and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. She lives in Del Mar with her husband and daughter.
